Todays (and ongoing) NSV: My wife, adult daughter and I all go to the same general doc. He’s a friendly but pretty reserved army doc now doing family practice.
Before my 10/23 surgery, every time I’d come in he’d have a pretty serious look on his face and tell me the changes I need to make.
Now when my wife or daughter go in, they say all he does is talk about my incredible transformation from 508 to 230 (ish…give or take).
Now when I go in for a regular checkup (like today), this normally reserved guy has the biggest grin when he comes into the room. He loves to see my 120/64 BP (where I used to have a really high BP and be on a large dose of meds for it).
He says “I have very obese patients I tell about your amazing success (he’s always clear he doesn’t use my name 🙂 ) I just tell him to tell them to here to the blog and they can read all the good and bad through my journey.
The whole time I’m in there he’s just smiling and so much happier. I share my latest victories with him, like the fact that walking 20 feet used to be a chore but now I walk/jog a 5k every Saturday. He’s just beaming during every visit! He helped push me to take that big step so I’m thankful for him!
It’s just a good reminder that I’m on the right path!
