I'm About To Lose It Logo

An obese 50 year old guy takes the plunge into RNY gastric bypass surgery.

For the last few weeks I’ve been eating much better overall. Not great but better than usual overall. Where I used to stop for a fast food breakfast every morning I’ve replaced that with a low cal/carb protein shake and protein bar. I’ve upped my daily water drastically. I’ve been making much healthier choices meal-wise overall. Again, not perfect as I’ve had some pretty big splurge meals (like a steak dinner last night), but much better. To the tune of losing about 20 pounds so far…and that’s before the major diet change the 2 weeks before surgery.

But I am telling you what…today I just want junk food. The craving is so strong it’s ridiculous! I work about 15 steps away from a vending machine with chips and sodas and candy….and I am fighting every urge to go get a Mountain Dew and a Twix bar! I just had a stick of beef jerky, which helped a little, but I still want it so bad.

Truth be told, that is mostly why I am typing this. Just to take my mind off of the desire to get that junk food.

Anyway, just keeping it real.
