It’s been a minute since I’ve done a food review. At Walmart yesterday to buy my usual Premier Protein shakes and found a four pack of these.
Folks, we may have a new contender.
My front runner has long been the Premier Protein Chocolate. Are they perfect? No. But it’s been nearly 10 months since surgery, and I still drink them daily. I’ve tried a lot of brands I’ve noped out of, but the PP Chocolate has stayed my primary breakfast shake.
The Chips Ahoy Ghost still has a better flavor, but I will give bonus points to anything pre-made (Ghost, this is your note to start selling the CH as a pre-made!) The SixStar Fruit Loops is pretty good and while I will buy it from time to time when I can find it, I did grow tired of it pretty fast. Core Power is still solid as well but I only see them as singles.
I don’t know if I’m just getting used to “that protein taste” or what, but I don’t taste it nearly as much in these Galactic Brownie Batter shakes. It almost tastes…good? Yeah, I will say it…it almost tastes good.
Only time, taste, and availability will tell if they remain near the top of the list, but after being let down by so many different brands, I’m glad I gave these a shot and will definitely be trying other Pure Protein flavors to see if there is anything else I like!
I only saw them in a 4 pack at our local Walmart. Since the Premier’s come in 12 packs they will probably continue to be my go to purchase, but these will be in the mix for the foreseeable future as well!
