I'm About To Lose It Logo

An obese 50 year old guy takes the plunge into RNY gastric bypass surgery.

Today I just had one of those random thoughts…and one I’ve had many times in this process. Today it suddenly seemed more real and attainable…even if it is still a little ways off.

I started this journey at 508. As of today I have lost 215 pounds and am down to 293.

Sometime in the future, if things continue as they should, I will have lost 254 pounds…and weight 254 pounds.

At that point I will have literally lost half of my starting weight.

I’m 39 pounds away from that. It’ll take many weeks to get there. I should probably get there in this year, but who knows? But it’s the first time it wasn’t just a thought, but a realization that it will actually happen. If I continue on this path, I will actually achieve that. I will need to go past that to get into the vague range I’m shooting for which is somewhere between 250 and 215. Maybe I will lose more than that? Maybe not. Who knows?

But at 254 I will have lost half of myself. Half of myself I was dragging around. Half of me that was in constant pain. Half of me that knew if I stayed on that path I wouldn’t be here long. Half of me that was miserable.

It’s a motivator for sure!
