I'm About To Lose It Logo

An obese 50 year old guy takes the plunge into RNY gastric bypass surgery.

I recently hit what is probably my most major milestone, aside from my target weight. That was when I hit 254, exactly 1/2 of my starting weight. I knew that on the heels of that was another major goal and even though it’s not an official weigh day for me for two more days, this morning the scale told me I hit my next major goal. The number I’ve been calling my “It’s all gravy” number: 250.

From the beginning I said that even though my target was around 225, if I hit 250, I’d consider everything a success. This morning as I stood on the scale and saw 249.6, I flashed back to my pre-op days when I was thinking about all of these numbers. Honestly 254, 250 and 225ish (my goal weight) all seemed like unrealistic, arbitrary numbers that I’d really never see. They were like these crazy dream numbers. Nice to shoot for but not really attainable.

And, yet, here I am. One more major goal to achieve. I hit 400, 350, 300, 254 and now 200…each one sweeter than the last. I still can’t quite believe it. Sometimes when I feel all the jiggly, flabby areas on my body, I still don’t believe it. 🙂 But the scales, the clothes sizes…those don’t lie.

So thankful for this journey. On to 225ish!
