It’s Thanksgiving day here in the US today. What a difference a year makes!
Last year, I was only four weeks out and still in a soft foods phase. I was probably around 425 pounds and I was still figuring things out.
It’s been a major journey this last year. Lots of learning, and figuring things out. Some hits. Some misses. But I’m now about 260 pounds below where I started and about 175 below where I was this time last year.
I’ve had more struggles lately. As of this writing I’ve gained almost 2 pounds over the last week or so. I’m trying not to stress about it because there are sometimes just weight fluctuations, but I also know I haven’t eaten the best. But I’m SLOWLY learning that 2 pounds does not mean all is lost.
175 lower than where I was this time last year…260 lower than where I started…losing more than half of my body weight already…being within 30 pounds of my original goal weight. It’s all crazy.
I’m going to try not to obsess over what I eat today, in either direction. I’m not going to mindlessly stuff my face, but I’m also not going to feel bad for having a few extra carbs. I’m still going to stop when I’m full, and I’m going to walk away satisfied and not feel like I’m missing out.
Thankful for this journey. Gobble, gobble.
