Today I’m just reminding myself to trust the process, not the scale. In the past week my weight has shot up 5 pounds and I am honestly not sure why. I have eaten SLIGHTLY outside of my usual this week as far as carbs, but not terribly. I’m hitting my water goals and my exercise this week has actually been up. Bathroom functions have been pretty normal…not sure what is up.
From day one of this process I’ve been scared to death of gaining weight back. I honestly am on the scale too much (almost daily) and I shouldn’t be, but my regular weigh days are Wednesday and Sunday. This week, somehow between Sunday and Wednesday I had gained almost 4 pounds, then last night I weighed and I was up almost another pound. I know weighing at night is not going to be accurate, but it still bummed me.
I’ve had periods of very small gains during this process. A .1 here, a .3 there, but never POUNDS.
But I need to use this to re-focus and not freak out. I’ve got to make sure I’m within my goal ranges. I’m still tracking everything I eat. I just need to trust the process and make sure I’m doing what I should be.
This morning I was already down some from last night so I’m back to going in the right direction, but not to where I was 5 days ago. I’ll get there.
