I'm About To Lose It Logo

An obese 50 year old guy takes the plunge into RNY gastric bypass surgery.

Some big milestones are coming up for me…

  • In a couple of pounds I will have lost 180 total.
  • After that is 190 then 200 pounds lost. TWO-HUNDRED POUNDS. Wow.
  • Just 9 pounds after 200 lost, I will hit 299.

Most people look for ONE-derland (under 200 pounds). I don’t think I will ever be there, and I’m okay with that. I don’t think my build supports that as a healthy weight. I don’t know yet what my goal weight is but I think it’s somewhere between 250 and 220 maybe.

But I honestly just never REALLY thought I’d be under 300 again. Granted, there are people who START this journey under 300…but I started above 500. So to think I will be under 300 is a bit of a mindfreak.

Honestly, as far as I can remember, I was around the weight I am right now 25 years ago when I was about to get married. For sure I had better knees and back then, but weight wise I’m closing in on numbers I haven’t seen in my adult life. Wow…

I haven’t been perfect on this journey, but it feels really good to know that my daily decisions are making an impact.

I read a book once that had a “formula” in it…and it turns out the formula, as simple as it is, works!

Little things done excellently, over time, produce big results.
